Family-go-rounds

For over 10 years our family and extended family has been circulating pc's to one another. This is something so simple and obvious, it is surprising everyone doesn't do it. When one of us gets a new pc, or monitor, or printer, etc, we give the old one to whomever can use it. It does help to have someone in the family who is computer-savvy who can diagnose problems and install a new hard drive or whatever when needed. This way we know that nothing is going to waste.

This informal process has been such a success that we've expanded it to include tv's, dvd players/recorders, and just about anything anyone might have use for. Before donating to a charity or selling in a garage sale, it is nice to know that our family and friends may have good homes for things we no longer need. Needless to say, we also have circulating libraries for DVDs, books, and lots of other things others might need.

This is such a simple thing, and also fun. I hope you will take this idea and improve on it.
